When you move to a new place with a kid, many things can go wrong, since it takes time for him to cope up with the situation. So, when you move, there are a few things to keep in mind-
1. Tell them a little early
When you tell your kid(s) that you will be moving out, tell them a little early. This is because they need a little time to cope up with the fact that they will be leaving this neighborhood, their friends, and this beloved house of theirs.
2. Take care of their entertainment
When you pack up the sources of their entertainment, make sure that you keep in mind that they get things to kill their time.
Keep a spare box empty, and let some of their books or toys unpacked so that they are not bored through the moving process.
3. Kids suck at packing
One thing- kids can't pack. If you think, that they can help you with the work, you are WRONG! So, make sure that you do not let them pack up the valuable things, or you might end up with broken things, and a broken heart!
4. Tell them why
A kid might be heartbroken when he knows that he will be leaving his house. So, tell them why they have to leave. Tell them why, so that they can think that moving is reasonable, and not just a sacrifice for them. Tell them that this is a sacrifice that they should be willing to make, by making sure they know the reason.
